Dear Colleagues and footy fanatics
"I have a dream" that one day I will represent this nation of ours at the most important INTERNATIONAL sporting specatacle of all
FOOTBALL .
Yes football not rugby not cricket and not even bowls!
Following our tremendous success at the last tournament where we achieved third place we are pleased to announce that the next round of trials
will take place in the new year. Have a look at our website to see what we have got up to.This will be Sat Jan 12th 2008. No other dates are offered I`m afraid.
Venue TBC but will be weatherproof and could be at Blackburn Rovers Training Grounds, Beckham Academy London or in
Bedford.
If all this fails we can always commandeer a children`s playground to play on and pub car park as changing facilities .
The selectors include our coach for the last two seasons and three players from the existing team.
The basis of selection will be
- Commitment expressed and demonstrated to attending sessions, team functions and activities etc. Attendance of events will be expected to be 100%. Dates to be confirmed in a few weeks at most
- Contribution to the team both potential and demonstrated
- Footballing ability
- Fitness
- Dependability in getting money across and documents etc. (on a non refundable basis)
- Being a team player
Competition is expected to be stiff and all places are up for grabs apart from the 5 which form the core of the administration of the team.
We are intending to take a maximum of 19 players.
The tournament will be in Lithuania and expected to take place in the first two weeks of July.
