MINUTES

1. ATTENDEES: John Zak, Paul Fourie, Tony Stone, Arif Kazi, Fraser Dunsire, Nick Smallwood, Richard Norris, Ashley Walden, Joe Hall (9 squad players) and Dave Llewelyn. Thanks for Kevin Stanton-King and Simon Lowe for stepping in to help out / "relive the magic". Also to Simon and Stuart who are friends of Dave's who played for the BMFT. Thanks were given to the opposition team and referee

2. KIT: Arrangements for the kit were discussed. Arif will be sorting this out. He will also be looking into Polo Shirts, tracksuits and ties. Paul Fourie will be ordering bannerettes again. Sponsorship from Eye Bag and Freeman Accountants has been secured; Steve Taylor is exploring further sponsorship avenues.

3 SQUAD NUMBERS: These have been decided upon.

4 COMMITMENT TO THE CLUB: We are now approaching the time where squad members need to make a definite commitment to travel to Australia in September by transferring the necessary fee to the BMFT account and booking their travel to Brisbane. The preferred flight details to and from Manchester are detailed below. Those who have not yet made this commitment need to within the next 4 weeks, and at the latest prior to the next meeting in June 2007. Please discuss your situation with Arif if required.

5 ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUES: Ashley needs to forward a copy of his degree certificate and 2 passport sized photographs to Arif.
Money collected on the day (£10 per head) will go towards incidental expenses such as pitch hire, balls, any team purchases that need to be made. The treasurer will formally present the accounts (with a breakdown of income and expenses) at our next AGM.

6 CHARITY: A sponsor form was given to all squad members present. Please try and promote this aspect of he club. Donations can also be made through the website (JDRF and Marie Curie Cancer Research). There is also a link to http://www.justgiving.com/BritishMedicalFootballTeam where donations can be made. All money collected will go to charity.

7 NEXT MEETINGS: It is especially important that these remaining 2 sessions are attended. We already have apologies for Dave Llewelyn and John Zak doe the June meeting and Richard Norris for the July meeting.

9th JUNE 2007 - Match against Austrian medical team, Joe Hall is arranging, Kick off on the Saturday will be 1pm at Victoria Park, East London. The evening will be spent socialising (joining the Austrians with an Indian meal.) 14th JULY 2007 - Saturday afternoon at Blackburn. This will be a training session. We will do a lot of work on organisation, set plays, tactics, followed by a barbeque ‘Lamb Roast’ at Paul Fourie's House. Details will be circulated in due course, Paul Fourie is organising this. It is important that everyone attends this session as kit items will be distributed.
